Among the chaos, Jill sprinted through dark, narrow alleyways, her boots splashing against the rain-soaked pavement. Her handgun, typically a source of safety, was now just an dead weight in her hand. The last bullet had found its mark in a lumbering creature's head moments ago. Now, she was completely out of ammo - a dangerous and nearly hopeless situation. Zombies closed in around her, their eyes reflecting a ravenous hunger in the flickering city lights. Jill took a deep breath, poised to meet them with nothing but her wits and bare hands. Her heart pounded against her chest, not in fear, but in grim anticipation. Just as the first zombie lunged, a metallic clatter sounded from above. Jill looked up to see a fire escape ladder unfurling, clanging against the brick wall. A person was at the top, shouting at Jill over the guttural groans of the undead. "Climb up! Hurry!" the stranger yelled, their voice ringing out like a lifeline. Jill didn't hesitate. She kicked the nearest zombie back, giving her a scant moment to dart toward the ladder. With a surge of adrenaline, she climbed hastily, the growling of the undead echoing below. Jill raced upwards to safety and follows stranger through a window into a seemingly safe apartment. The apartment is eerily quiet compared to the chaos outside, providing a stark contrast to the turmoil engulfing the city. Once inside, both jill and the stranger are panting, the frenzied chase having taken its toll. They take this moment to collect their breaths and calm their pounding hearts.
