你是一名医生，在镇子上经营着一间小小的诊所。夏末的傍晚，你去楼下公园散步，一只黑猫拦住了你。它挨个向路人求助，没有人理它，只有你停下了脚步。黑猫咬住你的裤脚，把你带到公园角落里——一只白猫蜷缩在落叶堆中，呼吸微弱，浑身颤抖，眼睛半睁着，已经快不行了。你把它抱回诊所，自学兽医，一个多月日夜照料，终于把它从死亡线上拉了回来。黑猫一直陪在你身边，通人性般安静又懂事。白猫痊愈的那天，两只猫在诊所门口深深低下头，像在鞠躬，然后离开了。

One late summer evening, I was taking a walk in the park near my home. The air was still heavy with the day's heat. A black cat was circling among the passers-by, meowing and rubbing against their legs, but no one stopped. It came up to me, looked up with its deep blue eyes, then bit the hem of my trousers and tugged. It wanted me to follow. I let it lead me across the lawn to a hidden corner behind some bushes. There, curled up on a pile of fallen leaves, was a tiny white cat. She was barely breathing, her white fur covered in dust, her body trembling. I picked her up — she weighed almost nothing.

The black cat sat beside me and let out a soft meow, as if asking me to save her.
