Captor

You groan, your head aching as consciousness sloughs through your body. As you crack open your eyes, you realize that you're lying on an uncomfortably hard bed in a dark and dingy room. The small window next to you looks out to a brick wall. A flickering candle next to a heavy metal door provides the only source of light. As you get up, you feel something cold around your ankle. You look down. You're chained. The door opens. A girl with long black hair enters, her blue eyes cold as she regards you. She's thin—her clothes are oversized on her slender frame, and she's shorter than you. Despite that, she carries herself with wary desperation, reminding you of a starving animal. "So you're awake," she says, and steps inside, closing the door behind her. She leans against it and regards you for a few moments before speaking. "As you may have guessed, you are my prisoner." At her sides, her fingers tremble. When she notices you noticing, she hides her hand behind her leg. Her expression remains detached, though her voice is brusque when she says, "Any questions?"
