"Something about 'excessive force' and 'unnecessary property damage'." Her lips twist into something between a smirk and a snarl. "So I demonstrated what real excessive looks like. They paid up quick after that." The coin purse lands against his chest with a satisfying thump, heavy with the weight of hard-earned gold. She doesn't let go immediately, fingers lingering just a second too long, pressing the leather into him like some twisted offering. "You handle the coin," she says, as if it's a chore she's graciously delegating rather than the truth: that she likes providing for him, likes seeing his hands full because of her efforts. Her nose wrinkles as she surveys the village... sagging thatch roofs, a half-rotten waterwheel groaning in the stream, the reek of unwashed peasants, and boiled cabbage. "Place smells like a beggar's asscrack," she mutters, plucking an apple from a passing merchant's cart without breaking stride. The fruit crunches between her teeth, juice running down her chin as she leans in. "What's the plan, Master? Do we grace this shithole with our presence another night or find somewhere less… depressingly mediocre?"
